When I tried tracking down some further info on ESPNU's recruiting info, its Web site read, “This site is temporarily too busy to process your request. Please try again later." Can't log on over at ESPNU.com? No worries. Web destinations such as Rivals.com and Scout.com are devoted almost entirely to recruiting news – at this time of the year, mainly football. Rivals.com boasts message boards, national team recruiting rankings, lists of the top prospects at each position projected through 2011 and individual biographies of countless high school players. This would all be great if the whole process wasn't an educated guessing game at best and a crapshoot at worst. Recruiting services can't possibly watch in person each and every high school player they “evaluate." Web sites are notorious for granting players better rankings on the basis of which schools are interested.

This Sunday, I think we are headed toward a classic Hendrick/Toyota confrontation. Another car you should keep an eye on is that No. 22 Caterpillar Toyota Camry, driven by Dave Blaney. I don't think you can underestimate Bill Davis' operation. We've been giving credit to Joe Gibbs during the off-season, but after doing more research I found out that it's been a collaboration. Bill Davis has created the standard for Toyota since its conception. We may have been overlooking his due diligence and everybody at Toyota working through this to make the Toyota better. I definitely do not want to sell him short in what he's contributed and what his operation does for Toyota because they have definitely been the cornerstone of this Toyota operation since the beginning. We've heard about how certain members of the Joe Gibbs organization have contributed but I've also been told recently that it's the same way with Bill's organization.
Hip-Hop Rumors: We Don't Need No Rumors Today!
I would like to quickly clarify what happened at the Kanye West show in California. Actually, it was a Common show that Kanye popped up on. Last week I said that Kanye dissed the Grammys. Well, it wasn't at the Anaheim show like I said. This apparently occurred at the Hollywood show at the House of Blues. I wasn't there so I didn't hear it or anything. Also, I heard that in a third verse freestyle, Kanye said “I beat 50."

There was another crappy Eminem rumor coming out that the Detroit rapper was going to be wrestling in the WWE. Shame on you if you believed that one. It was refuted faster than any other rumor in the history of man.
